A Fragment of Governor Phillip's Journal
7/14/20241 min read

The State Library of NSW has just announced the acquisition of 'a rare fragment of Governor Arthur Phillip’s long-lost journal'. This is the first known copy of the journal (or part of it), and it provides invaluable insight into his record-keeping, as well as new information about the early colony. The document will be on display at the State Library until the end of 2024.
My analysis of the document and its significance is published in my newsletter 'A Fine Passage' for July 2024.
